Nusrat Jahan is a UK trained Barrister-at-Law and a practicing Advocate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court with over 20 years of diverse legal professional background in litigation, negotiation, real estate and program management. A commonwealth Chevenning scholar, Nusrat obtained her Masters in Laws from the University College London, UK.
She has worked for the Govt. Of Bangladesh as a law officer in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. She was a national professional officer in the Tobacco Control Program, World Health Organization, Bangladesh and was the Program Manager, Access to Justice and Human Rights, a UNDP Bangladesh Program. Currently she is in the process of taking the Ontario Bar Licensing Exam under the Federation of the Law Societies of Canada. She is also project coordinator of two projects of the Progressive Action for Community Empowerment, a non for profit in Toronto.
